How does a casket lid top support get installed?Updated 3 months ago

The purpose of a casket lid top support is to safely hold the lid in an open position. When open, the lid should not be quite 90 degrees from a closed position, but rather 5 to 10 degrees closed toward you while viewing the open casket. It is important to install a casket lid top support precisely so that the knee in the top support does not force upward into the lid or downward into the casket damaging or tearing the upholstery. To achieve this, the mounting points need to each be precisely 6 inches from the hinge point of the lid. (That is, if you are using our 9-1/2 inch top support arm; for any other length of arm, adjust accordingly.). The mounting points can be higher or lower into the casket or the lid frame, but the distance to the pivot point of the hinge must be a precise 6 inches.
