Generally, install one latch on each half of the casket lid (head & foot).  Latches come in two styles; pin style and tab style.  Latches are also available in left-hand and right-hand where in the lever pivots on one side or the other. Each latch is composed of 4 components including a base plate, a lever, a top plate attached to the top of the casket sidewall and a pin or tab attached to the lid that is then received into the latch and secured with the lever.
